Casa da Música is a major concert hall space in Porto, which houses the cultural institution of the same name with its three orchestras: Orquestra Nacional do Porto, Orquestra Barroca and Remix Ensemble. It was designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas and was built as part of Porto's project for European Culture Capital in 2001, although it was only finished in 2005, immediately becoming a city icon. It offers a wide cultural agenda, from classic or children concerts to dinning and clubbing parties. It’s open to the public and there are guided tours of the building and its magnificent rooms during the day.
