The São Carlos National Theater, opened in 1793, remains the only National Theater dedicated to the production and presentation of opera and choral and symphonic music. Throughout its existence, historical facts, social episodes and relevant cultural events have abounded, which enrich its unique historical heritage. In this building with neoclassical characteristics, classified as a National Monument, the musical program works in three spaces: the Main Room, the stage of great lyrical productions and symphonic concerts and ballets; the Salão Nobre, which receives recitals and concerts from different instrumental backgrounds, opera readings and more intimate performances, and the Foyer - entrance to the Theater - a privileged space for chamber concerts and brief recitals.
