The construction of Praça do Peixe, a unique example of the iron architecture in Aveiro, appears in one of the most typical spaces of the city, where nowadays there is a great part of the nightlife. It goes back to the first decade of the twentieth century, playing, from the outset, the market function favored by its privileged location superior to the Canal dos Botirões (old pier of salt and fish).
