This impressive palatial example is the only survivor of the great Royal palaces of the Middle Ages. This palace is the fruit of several constructive campaigns, being the main ones of the times of D. João I, D. Manuel and of the first third of the XVI century. The Sintra Palace is the most ambitious Mudejar art project in Portugal. Quite used by the medieval monarchs, it has numerous divisions, among the most important are the Archaeologists Room, the Arab Room, the Chinese Room, the Room of Afonso VI, the Arms Room or the coats of arms.
