The Museum of Science holds a large part of the scientific collections of the University of Coimbra and is divided into two buildings of the illuminism period: the chemistry Laboratory and the Faculty of Philosophia (former College of Jesus). The offices of Natural History and Experimental Physics were created in the building. Over the years, new rooms and new collections have been integrated into the galleries. Today it is the oldest museum in Portugal that remains in its place of origin.
