This space is strongly aimed at modern and contemporary Portuguese art, namely painting and sculpture, with the main references being the painters António Carneiro and Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso. Amadeo is the main reference of the Museum, of which he is a patron, and the approximation to his work makes it an instrument of a pedagogy of modernity, with the visible paths of Cubism to Abstraction, with the news of Futurism, the marks of Expressionism and premonitions of Dadaism and its absurdities.
