The Cabinet of Physics is part of the Museum of Science of the University of Coimbra and brings together a collection of the most remarkable and rare physics instruments in Europe. Named as "EPS Historic Site" by the European Society of Physics (EPS), the space became the first place in Portugal to receive this important distinction. It gathers examples of machines, gadgets and instruments, many of the eighteenth century, which enriched and were accompanying the development of experimental physics. True works of art, valued by the richness of the materials and by the perfection in the execution, that occupy the original rooms and furniture.
