The Fábrica Alentejana de Lanifícios (Alentejo Wool Factory) embodies heritage and expertise. Descends from an older one, founded at the end of the 19th century. The Factory tries to revive and preserve an almost extinct art. Here, everything is produced on secular semi-manual looms and with Portuguese wool, without any mixture of synthetic fibers. The artistic creations take place in the hands of some weavers, in an old adapted olive oil press, in order to ensure that this heritage remains alive. Internationally awarded for design and quality, it has been featured in several publications, such as The Observer newspaper, Architectural Digest Magazine, Marie Claire Maison and Côté Sud, among many others. The tradition of Reguengos de Monsaraz continues to leave its mark inside and outside the country, with most of the Fábrica's customers being designers, architects and hotels who want unique and exclusive pieces.
