A few kilometers from the city of Leiria, in a building located in Cortes, donated by the Soares family to the Foundation and is completely restored and refurbished under the direction of Architect Daniela Ermano, are installed the House - Museum Mário Soares Foundation and the Centro Cultural João Soares. In the building of the Foundation there’s a library and spaces for temporary exhibitions of offers received by Mário Soares during his public life, as prime minister and then as president.
